Art has always been more than something I make – it’s how I see the world.

I began painting in 2020 during the pandemic, initially as a way to pass the time and quiet the boredom. What started with an acrylic painting kit—given to me years earlier by my best friend—quickly grew into a true passion. I learned through YouTube tutorials, online art groups, and a lot of experimentation, eventually finding the confidence to just go for it. My very first painting was a gift for that same best friend: our favorite view of a Jamaican beach we once shared together. That piece set the tone for much of my work today.

I love painting landscapes, especially dramatic clouds, brilliantly colored flowers, tropical beaches, colorful birds, basically all of God’s handiwork. My brain has a habit of converting everything I see into technicolor, and that bold use of color naturally finds its way into my art. My work isn’t about copying what’s in front of me, but expressing how it feels – vibrant, purposeful and full of wonder.

I work exclusively with acrylic paints and use various references to combine different images into a single, cohesive vision. My favorite part of the process is watching a blank white canvas slowly come to life, transforming into what I’ve been seeing in my mind.

I live in Colorado and enjoy painting the mountains and landscapes around me, but I’m equally drawn to tropical beach scenes that reflect my favorite vacation destinations. My goal is simple: I want people to smile when they see my artwork and feel something—whether that’s the joy of our world around us, a memory, a favorite place, a reminder of a special vacation, or the delight of imagining themselves inside the painting.
